About CDP
The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an international non-profit organization that encourages companies, cities, and regions to disclose their environmental impact. Founded in the UK in 2000, CDP aims to provide investors and stakeholders with transparent insights into organizations’ environmental strategies and emissions. With over 23,000 reporting companies and more than 1,100 cities and regions, CDP operates the world’s largest environmental disclosure system.
Once a year, the CDP uses standardized questionnaires to collect data and information on companies' CO2 emissions, climate risks, and reduction targets and strategies. CDP manages what is now the world's largest database of its kind.
Assessment
The assessment is based on standardized questionnaires covering governance and transparency, emissions and resource use, risks and opportunities, and sustainability actions. CDP ratings follow a scale from A (Leadership) to D- (Disclosure). An A score represents leadership in sustainability, while a B or higher is considered a strong result, demonstrating that a company is actively working towards its sustainability goals.
